Safety
The electronic Anti-lock braking system (ABS) assists the driver in maintaining control, even during emergency braking. The system continually monitors each wheel for 'lock-up' under severe braking and the optimal amount of braking force is distributed to each wheel to help prevent skidding. This provides enhanced braking performance, both on and off the road.
Emergency Brake Assist (EBA) supplements the driver's pedal effort to maximize the generated force when the brake is depressed sharply in an emergency, thereby minimizing the braking and stopping distance.
Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) uses electronic control to make the most of the braking force between the front and the rear wheels. The EBD system in the Ford Escape uses data provided by sensors to measure wheel speed up to 100 times during each rotation. If the system senses that wheel lock up is imminent, it redirects the braking-force within milliseconds to maximize traction. EBD provides high-tech braking control in every load situation for safer and stress free driving.

Power AND Performance
The Escape features a 2.3L 4 cylinder engine with Variable Valve Timing. This engine produces 109kW of power and 199Nm of torque for economic driving.
INTERIOR
The Ford Escape's audio system features a 45 Watt 4-speaker AM/FM stereo radio with 6-disc in-dash CD player with MP3 playback.
The Ford Escape features a one touch climate control system that allows you to set the temperature inside the cabin. Together with an external air temperature gauge, you can enjoy a more comfortable and controlled environment.
Front and rear power windows are standard on Escape, with a one-touch down function on the driver's window and lock-out function for increased safety.
The seating configuration of Escape's rear seat is split 60/40, creating loads of cargo and passenger carrying options. So now, even with all the family and their gear, everybody has more than enough room to relax. And to increase relaxation and comfort on long journeys, the Escape features rear seats that can recline to varying degrees.
